They ensure their safety standards in the air and out in the field are of the highest and keep the team up to date with the necessary training and compliance required.
Corey and Leona moved to the district at the beginning of 2018 when Corey took a base managers role with Gisborne Helicopters. At the end of 2020 the opportunity arose for them to start up Wairoa Helicopters and they jumped at the chance knowing they wanted to remain in Wairoa raising their young family.
Being brought up on a farm in the Wairarapa Corey very quickly developed a love for the agricultural sector and adding his desire to be a pilot pursued a career that covered both his interests. Corey completed his pilot licence in Australia in 2007 and gained experience flying the Bell 206 Jet Ranger, AS350(Squirrel), EC120 and Robinson R44. In 2014 he moved back to New Zealand to obtain his agricultural rating and follow his original dream of working in the agricultural sector.
